i’m alone in the old old confines of fasiladis’ bath
and i’m looking to pass the time till my lesson
in the ways of the past
i’m surrounded by these well preserved ruins that i got to myself
i think when things fall apart we can see the foundations
and fortunes they’ve held

when we come to these places we can’t help but stop
digging direct inquiry into naturally expiring eons
beyond the known
when we come to the bottom and we look straight up
into vaulted crumbling ceilings of angelic design
we find the time is right

now my bajaj is waiting and i must go and end this peaceful reverie
but one day i hope to return to this very same place alone in my memory
